My Wish Came True!

Well, if you go way back and read my very first post, you know my reason for starting a teaching blog. (click here) I have been MIA for a very good reason! I became a MOM!!!!! Through the miracle of adoption, we received a phone call just 3 short weeks ago and have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Kiley.
Here is a little photo slideshow capturing some of the highlights of our journey.

At times, I do get to browse a few blogs and get some ideas in between naps. At some point, I hope to return to blogland, but in the meantime, I am thoroughly enjoying motherhood!

I'm entering my 20th year as an educator, 14 of which have been with 1st grade. I have taught Kindergarten, 4th, 7th, and 8th grades. First Grade, however, is my true love! Those little "crumb snatchers" melt my heart and crack me up almost every day! I love their "on the brain, out the mouth" kind of honesty. I love their authentic way of looking at things in such an innocent way. Their curiosity never ceases to amaze me. First graders are exactly like the cliche "little sponges". They literally soak up every bit of knowledge you feed their little minds! I'm married to an awesome husband of almost 8 years and we are anxiously awaiting to add a little one to our family through the miracle of adoption.
